650% UTAH -10'  over Arizona St

Our Pre-Game Analysis For Our Clients

Today in the Pac 12 Arizona St (2-6) travels to play Utah (6-2).

Utah has won the past 3 meetings by an average of 17 points.

A month ago this isn't a game we'd be interested in, since the line

would've been at least 17 and Utah wouldn't have given it their full attention.

Scheduling dynamics and recent results have changed how Utah will approach this contest.

Over the past month and a half Arizona St has gone 1-4 SU but 4-0-1 ATS.

They lost by only 3 to California as a 13 point road underdog.

They lost at home to Colorado by 3 as a 3 point dog in a game they should've won.

After having a week off, they went on the road to play undefeated Washington.

As a 26 point underdog, they lost by only 8 (15-7). They returned last week to play

Washington St, and as a 4 point underdog they won outright in their Homecoming Game.

They now must go back out on the road again to play a Utah team that was just blown out

last week at home by Oregon (35-6). Back in September, Utah lost to Oregon St 21-7,

and returned home the following week (-9) and beat California 34-14.

The fact that (2-6) Arizona St has been playing very competitive ball, Utah will

be totally focused for this contest. Arizona St is coming off their best game of the

season, while Utah is coming off their worst game.

It was the first time since 2018 Utah didn’t find the end zone,

and it was the end of an 18-game home winning streak.

Utah will have a lot of basic fundamentals to work on this week,

while the Sun Devils will be emotionally drained from their efforts

over the past month and coming off a big Homecoming win!

Over the past 9 regular season contests where Utah was coming off a loss

they have gone ... 8-1 SU & ATS.

Utah still has an outside shot at winning their conference this year.

Over the next 4 games, Utah still has to play Washington, and the other

3 games are very much winable. Washington is now entering a very tough part

of their schedule ... SoCal, Utah, Oregon St, & Washington St.

Oregon also has a couple very tough opponents ahead of them.

UTAH is ... 41-18 ATS vs. poor rushing teams averaging <=120 rushing yards/game.

... 13-4 ATS in home games vs. poor rushing teams averaging <=120 rushing yards/game.

... 21-9 ATS in home games after allowing 6.25 or more yards/play in their previous game.

... 26-14 ATS as a favorite of 10.5 to 21 points.

... 17-8 ATS off a home loss.

... 13-4 ATS in home games vs. good rushing defenses allowing <=120 rushing yards/game.

Arizona St was fortunate to be playing games where some of their opponents were in bad spots.

California was coming off a tough game against Washington.

Washington was coming off a tough close win over Oregon.

Washington St was coming off a tough loss from Oregon.

In each of those Arizona State's opponents had no reason to be totally focused to play them.

Utah is a team that has the ability to bounce back from a poor performance.

After rushing for only 69 yards vs. Oregon St, the following week they ran for

317 yards and beat California by 20.  Last week they only rushed for 99 yards vs. Oregon.

Other than those 2 bad rushing performances that resulted in losses, they rushed for

and average of 205 yards per game in their 6 victories.

Last week Utah was coming off an outright win as a 7 point underdog to SoCal.

That was one of their best performances of the season. They are now coming off

their worst performance of the season. Arizona St is now in the roll of coming off

their best game of the season, and it was their Homecoming Game.

This is an extremely difficult spot for the Sun Devils.

Utah held Florida to 13 rushing yards and Ucla to only 9 yards on the ground.

Arizona St is a poor rushing team, and they will be one dimensional in this contest.

Utah has the #7 rushing defense in the country, while Arizona State's

rushing offense is the 109th ranked in the country.

The Sun Devils passing attack won't be much help, as they are 111th ranked in the country.

Utah's scoring defense is ranked 18th in the country at 17 points/game ...

and they've given up an average of only 11 points/game vs. teams with a losing record.

This will be the highest ranked (#18) overall defense Arizona St has faced all season.

The next highest ranked was Fresno St (#33), and they lost at home (29-0).
