Today in the ACC Duke travels a half hour

down the road to take on N.C.State.

Duke at 6-3 is coming off back to back losses,

while NC State at 5-4 is coming

off back to back wins. Duke started the season on a roll

winning their first 5 contests.

They've gone 1-3 the past 4 losing to GaTech, Smu, and Miami,Fl.

Their past 2 losses were to Smu who's

8-1 and 5-0 in conf and to Miami who's

9-0 and 5-0 in conf.

Duke had to play the 2 teams who are ranked

and tied for first place in the ACC.

They lost at the end of the game by only 1 point to Smu,

and were leading Miami until the 2nd half.

They hung close to both of the top 2 teams.

On the other hand, NC State traveled across the

countryand beat California before

returning home to blowout Stanford last week.

In State's 5 wins, they have yet to beat

a team with a winning record.

In games where the line was (+4 to -4) they are 0-2.

They are coming off their best offensive performance

since their opener against W.Carolina.

This team isn't built to have back to back good performances

vs good teams, as they make

too many mistakes. They've commited 8 turnovers

in the past 4 games,

and they are -2 on the season with turnovers.

Duke had 4 turnovers vs Miami,

and they are still +10 in turnovers on the season.

They are tied with Indiana for 10th in the country in this category.

When Duke has faced comparable teams

this season where the line was (+4 to -4),

they have won all 3 contests.

Duke already has their 6th win

and is bowl eligible so the pressure

is off in trying to achieve that feat.

State however with 5 wins is still trying to get their 6th.

Both offenses like to pass. Duke is 25th in the country

in Pass Defense, while State is 66th.

Duke is 3-1 ATS the past 4 trips to Raleigh.

They are 3-1 ATS on the road this season,

while NC State is only 1-5 ATS playing at home.

Duke Gets Back On Track Today and Wins Outright.
